braindump on closing panel at HTML5.tx

Mike Taylor, Joe McCann, Estell Well, Burke Hollands, Ryan Joy, Christopher Schmidt and Brandom Satrom (moderator) are the panel. Joe McCann is giving a high-level on his future-friendly talk. I realize now that when he was talking about digital signage before that he did not mean sign-your-name stuff he meant actual signs that are digital. Jeffrey Palermo points out there are paradigm shifts every few years and asks the panel what is next. Joe McCann mentions self aware devices and smart phones that communicate with other smart phones. Burke thinks the next big shift will happen at the Enterprise level with it coming into graceful devices. The typical IT landscape will change. Another topic: Estell goes to caniuse to see if a browser supports something. At the bottom of caniuse, at the bottom are links for resources and quirks. The quirks documentation helps you deal with the stuff that goes wrong. GitHub has the caniuse source. In the Internet of Things, the loss of a smart phone can signal the loss of an identity... pain. This is legitimately scary.
