- Type ODBC at the start menu line in Windows 7 to bring up the ODBC Data Source Administrator.
- Press "Add..." at the User DSN tab.
- Go through the wizard and add the appropriate specs.
- Open Microsoft Access 2010.
- At the "External Data" tab, pick: "ODBC Database"
- Check radio button for: "Link to the data source by creating a linked table."
- Go to the "Machine Data Source" tab.
- Select tables to import.
Note: If your app just needs a datasource named the right thing then you really only need to do the first four steps to be golden. The app should then just start working. http://www.w3schools.com/ado/ado_connect.asp is some further reading on this subject.
