A change of environments can be jarring but can also be cool. This and this sort of suggest HTC is giving up on doing phones itself to instead help Google with theirs. Over 2,000 of HTC's engineers are just being "transferred" to Google. HTC is probably more interested in the Vive. Oh, to be one of the red-headed step kids (celly engineers) and to change environments. It's really not so bad for them, eh? They get to stay employed. They get to work on meaningful tech instead of tech that's going nowhere. Happy Valentine's Day everyone.
