I've heard Scott Hanselman say of it "It's still there." and tweet that it is the mySpace of online repositories or online source control or something. GitHub is what everyone abandoned this for. I remember a certain someone describing Netscape Navigator as the RC Cola of browsers when explaining why he didn't want to support development for it. I guess I won't drop his name as that would be tacky. :P
