Dell!

I worked many contracts at Dell's Round Rock campus in Building 2... and so has much of Austin's tech talent. It's kinda an iconic place and a proving ground. Here are some pictures from my time there in 2017 when I was on my third contract!

This was taken March 29. There was some event where there was free food and some of the Dell toys were rolled out for the staff to play with. It had a look-how-awesome-we-are feel to it all. Jeff Clarke, pictured here, told us of how we were crushing the competitors including Apple.

This is another picture of Jeff Clarke from the same thing, maybe fifteen seconds later.

Josh Barta was a coworker. We sat together at "DSC Feature Team Table 17" and this photo was taken there on April 13. Some lasagna and bunny rabbit peeps were given out in celebration of the looming Easter weekend and you can see both here. This was done the day before Good Friday instead of Good Friday itself and I bet it was because the powers that be suspected the office would be sparsely populated on Good Friday. Josh was an interesting character. He had type 1 diabetes and carried with him a bunch of esoteric equipment that approached a steampunk level of geek strangeness including a device sewn into him stomach that verbalized metrics for his glucose levels. (or maybe it sent a wireless signal to his phone and his phone spoke... not sure which) He bragged of being a cyborg and wanted his implant to be even more extreme. If he could get an insulin pump to update him when his implant warned him of an unhealthy glucose level he'd have, in his words more or less, an artificial pancreas and he was working on a pet project to make as much happen.

On May 1st Craig Norton moved from our table to table 20. We missed you Craig! It was also great to work with Kevin Klossner, Jeffrey Wheeler, Jackies Wise, Lindsey Dudik, Mark Kopec, John Hill, Anindya "Andy" Basu, Ritesh Mehta, Srikanth Balakrishnan, Kalpesh Bhandari, Dan Overlander, Sanjay Sharma, Supriya Bansai, Bipin Karmacharya, and Andy Hsu. Let's all have spaghetti for lunch.
