In Google Chrome Developer Tools, at the upper left corner is a button for "Select an element in the page to inspect it" and just to its right is "Toggle device toolbar" which toggles between regular desktop mode an an emulator layout for mobile. This might be easier than this. The button is always there.
Addendum 1/8/2020: At the upper left of the emulator layout is a menu that will say "Responsive" by default and which can be changed to a series of canned sizes. iPhone X has a size of 375x812 which is a third of 1125x2436 which is the size I get when I make a screen grab on my phone and email it to myself. The skrink down is part of this trickery. 400x840 is the default size.
