Wikipedia says: A Web crawler is an Internet bot which systematically browses the World Wide Web, typically for the purpose of Web indexing. ...and furthermore: An Internet bot, also known as web robot, WWW robot or simply bot, is a software application that runs automated tasks (scripts) over the Internet. Is websites really one word or two like web sites?
