create a list from an excel sheet in SharePoint 2010

  1. go to: Site Actions > View All Site Content > Create
  2. click (to select): Import Spreadsheet
  3. then click the button at the right which says "Create"

 
 

When importing an Excel sheet into SharePoint 2010 specify a range of cells like... $A$1:$D$23
